Feathers, glitz and fabulous dance routines are set to return to the borough’s streets on Sunday 10 September with the return of the Hackney One Carnival.
Hundreds of performers will take to the streets, with a procession weaving through the borough to cheers from Hackney’s local residents, all celebrating the borough’s thriving culture, creativity and community cohesion.
There will also be an all-day children’s play area in Gillett Square and another in Hackney Town Hall Square from 12-4pm, as well as a carnival finale party at Ridley Road and Gillett Square featuring global foods, arts and music.
Schools and community groups will be involved in creating vibrant carnival decorations which will transform parts of the route into a riot of colour.
